City Government Experience

I took the oath of office to serve on the Clayton Board of Aldermen on April 27, 2021. As part of that role, I have served as a liaison to both the uniformed and non-uniformed Pension Boards, the Sustainability Advisory Committee (SAC), the Clayton Community Equity Commission (CEC), and the Clayton Recreation Sports and Wellness Commission (CRSWC).

From 2013-2020, I served as a volunteer member of the Clayton Parks & Recreation Commission. In this capacity, I saw local government in action, evaluating items for both the capital and operating budgets, engaging in the planning process, and soliciting community input. I was involved in projects ranging from small parks and playgrounds to Chapman Plaza & Gardens and Centene Commons. Most importantly in all of these, I listened to community input with an open mind in order to work with the Commission to make sound recommendations to the Board of Aldermen.

CCF Experience

I joined the Board of Directors of the Clayton Community Foundation (CCF) in January 2016 as Chair of the Community Building Committee. Prior to that, I served on the planning committee for the “Party of the Century” in 2013 and as a member of the CCF Annual Fund Committee. CCF is an innovative 501c3 that serves as a non-profit partner to the City of Clayton to support projects and programs that a city budget may not completely cover. CCF's focus pillars are: Art, History, Parks, and Sustainability. In 2020, I served the first year of a term as President of the Board of Directors.

Through my involvement in CCF, I saw the impact of community engagement, and was impressed by the creativity and generosity of our community, as we collaborate to achieve desired outcomes.

Professional Experience

In my work as Director of IT Solutions at Cambridge Air Solutions, a privately owned manufacturing company based in St. Louis County, I strive to lead with curiosity and purpose.

In my IT career, I have also worked at SBC/AT&T and major defense contracting companies.

A key aspect of my approach to work in IT and business, as well as public service and governance, is a focus on people. We must understand and align on the problems we are facing in order to ideate solutions that will make a difference.
